Study and work are two different purposes. So moving from one to the other is not an edit to your existing card. Formally it is a new zezwolenie na pobyt czasowy (temporary residence permit) on the grounds of work, decided by the voivode (wojewoda).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-20b1a7f4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"20b1a7f4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The old study basis does not convert into a work basis. The exact list depends on your type of permit, so check it in advance.<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom:8px;\"><strong>File the application (wniosek) before your legal stay ends.<\/strong> This is the key moment: file while your current basis is still valid. It happens when the new application is filed after the study basis has already ended. While the decision is pending, your legal stay is confirmed first by the electronic confirmation of the filed application (UPO) and, once any formal deficiencies (braki formalne) are corrected, by a za\u015bwiadczenie (certificate). But whether you may already work is decided separately and depends on the type of permit. If you are removed from your studies, the study basis falls away, and the voivode usually learns of it. For a work card, the type of contract and the level of income matter.
